Dear Classmates,

What a wonderful response we had to 45 for the 45th, our class film, during reunion weekend. It caused an outburst of dialogue amongst people in similar situations. There were universal tears during the interview with Linda. The lives presented are wonderfully diverse. Classmates were eloquent in addressing their challenges in life. The standing ovation we received was a happy surprise. Most of the people in the film did not attend so the film greatly broadened the participation of our class.

There has been general conversation over the months about submitting the film for a film festival. Bill and I have done some thinking and analyzing. We are in agreement on how we would have to adapt the material for general entry into a film festival. Clearly we would have to set the stage and make explanations for several people and situations. We have seriously considered how to make these changes. Bill has several graphic novels and videos in the works. I am editing a diary, long overdue, to be desk-top published for my husband's family for Christmas. We realize that we have moved on and like the final version as is. (ah...Bill, with a few tweeks....) Therefore, we will not pursue entry into film festivals with 45 for the 45th.

Bill and I (and Rebekah and Steve) had a wonderful time working together. We loved visiting classmates and sharing meals and experiences. It may just be that we will resume this project for the 50th. Lets see where we all are in 2010.

Those of you who are in the film will receive a copy. Others who would like a copy, please send $8 to Bill Schwartz, PO Box 521216, Longwood, FL 32752 to cover costs.

May I again add my personal thanks to our most terrific Reunion Committee who each did a stellar job. The weekend certainly rivaled an Ivy League reunion in every way. We had a disappointing low turnout from classmates living locally who were missed by the many who came from afar. That was a shame. I hope another year those living locally will make an effort to come during some part of reunion.

A round of applause for those 80 classmates and 50 spouses who came and folks from other classes and parents and teachers. The principal of the school wrote a wonderful observation on the accomplishments of our outstanding class. We were able with our class gift to complete the balance of the cost of the auditorium seats and do some paving at the Showalter Field for which they are very grateful.

Now we shall all take a well earned pause. Bless you all.

xoxo Stevie (Ann Spaulding) Wilberding,
Reunion Chair and Producer and Director 45 for the 45th
