Dave
made a trip over to the Auburn Campus and stopped at their bookstore
to visit with Margaret. It was a surprise to both Margaret and
Dave to find that they both had been living in Montgomery since
1972. Margaret has been on staff at Auburn for almost that long!
From Dave: "Margaret
said she was at WPHS for only the last half of our senior year.
I guess the only reason I really knew her was they lived in
one of the 3 houses on the lake. Her house was on the end -
Gen. Cunningham (his daughter JoAnne was in our class at one
time) - then our house. Margaret was a very sweet girl as I
remember. She started at Rollins and transferred to Auburn in
1964…which I never knew…she married and in about
1966 I went and visited Margaret and her husband at Auburn when
I found she was there. That was the last I ever saw of her…and
actually.... They moved from Auburn for a few years and then
came back in 1972 (strangely the same year I moved to Montgomery)
and have lived there ever since. It's funny to think all these
years she was 40 minutes from my office and I never knew it
… and to think of all the time I have spent over there!
