Photo
taken at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center during the '96 Olympics.
I was a co-manager in the Press Tribune. Had 72 foreign and domestic
press in my half to entertain and keep track of. (See the phone,
monitor, etc.? The spectator bleachers are across the water from
where I am standing at the top of the Press area.)
The red brick buildings are the dorms
that "sank" up to 1½ ft after being hastily built.
The mesh screen has the Olympic logo and kept the 30 mph gusts from
blowing the divers off the boards . . . it was cold and windy for
much of the event. Included swimming, diving, water polo, synchronized
swimming.
