Hi Anne: What a success it was. Thanks to
Bill Ronay and his sweet wife, those who attended the mini reunion Saturday
at the Blue Willow in Social Circle, had a wonderful time. Saw my old buddy,
Connie Shoupe (Hudson) for the first time in many years.
We have pledged to renew the old friendship
since we found out that we only live 45 minutes away from each other. The
whole afternoon turned out to be richly rewarding. None of us wanted to
leave.
Got to see Lynne Ricks (Peters) and her husband
before they move to Houston in 3 weeks. Jeannie Jones (Russell) came down
from North Carolina. What an inspiration she is! Mary Sheldon, Ron Peacock,
Deanna Dudley (Kent), Larry Fennelly, Susan Carter (Ricks), Dick Bergen,
Polly Gouck (Hall), and Bill Ronay.
The Southern style food was wonderful, but
the super fellowship started an hour in advance on the front porch in the
rocking chairs of the old ante-bellum Blue Willow Inn. We only had the room
rented for 1-1/2 hours but we didn't leave the room for at least 3 hours.
We adjourned for photos on the lawn in front
of the fountain. We all were reluctant to leave at all. With many hugs (and
maybe a tear or two) and promises to stay in touch, we left to once again
go our sepearate ways.
We have decided to get together again in
either February or March, 2004. Hopefully, a few more folks with participate
then. We can't wait for 10 year intervals for these get-togethers. We don't
have that many left! Thanks for all you do on this website. Jeanne Williams
