Subject: Southern Caribbean aboard the m.s. Zuiderdam
Our Caribbean cruise is
over. Overall it was good, not great. The stateroom was
nice, weather good, food filling, and everything ran pretty
much on schedule. We enjoyed the Neptune Lounge and used
it often as we were frustrated by the constant mob scene
at the Lido. Also, I have never seen so many walkers, scooters
and wheelchairs. They perpetually clogged the aisles and
public areas. It seems like HAL has a lot of returning passengers,
all of which get older each year. In the fall we sail aboard
Oceania’s new Riviera ship in the eastern Med, which
is smaller and more elegant vessel. Oceania and Regent are
now, in my mind, much better cruise lines than Holland America.
At least we were not aboard a Costa ship. Attached is a
photo taken at dinner in the Pinnacle Grill. All
the best, Dick
