"I was frozen still, so I wouldn't scare him off and no, I would never feed them or any other wildlife, except back yard birds. He was so light, that I could not tell when he flew off. Norma, told me he took off. I love Florida Scrub Jays. Florida Scrub Jays form family units, consisting of several generations. The generations all help in raising the new generation. It was amazing to watch these happy little birds playing in the scrub, after they checked us out. They were obviously communicating with each other, as they fluttered around, chasing each other. They have an abundant food supply and we watched them scratch around under the small oaks and come up with small nuts. I also saw one with a small piece of some kind of fruit and not sure what it was. Now I have two full days of photos to go through, probably around 1500 to 2000 and I haven't even uploaded them all yet. Visited St. Augustine, Merritt Island NWR twice, Cruckshank Sanctuary, Viera Wetlands and Orlando Wetlands." Tom Tobin
