Subject: A Little Road Trip
Anne, Connie and I took
a little road trip this past Thursday down near Bradenton
to the winter home of the Lipizzan Stallions. They train
there during the winter months and the training is open
to the public Thursday, Friday, and Saturday until they
leave to go on tour the first of May. These are descendents
of the horses rescued by Gen. George Patton during WW2.
They where smuggled out of Austria by the U.S. Army before
the advancing Russians. The fear was that the Russians would
slaughter these horses and eat them. They are really something
to see. Charlie
