"OK, I
admit it. I am a history nerd, and just love well conceived
Museums. So we went to lovely Williamsburg to adsorb this
amazing historic place (without children - just saying..
). Loved it. And Jamestown was fantastic - great museum,
new excavations, lots to see. But we were completely knocked
out by Yorktown!!! It is the museum of the future - engaging,
informative and truly riveting. It was visually mesmerizing,
the history creatively displayed and just jaw-dropping.
WOW! I could have stayed for days. Pictures don't even touch
the power of the place. The reconstructed campground adjoining
it with excellent interpreters was fascinating. If you have
time - take a trip to northeast Virginia, with its beautiful
parkways leading to all of the great sites." (Susan
