boys are my LA grandsons who had the same or overlapping

went to Japan two years ago, have enjoyed other travels
together and Finn and I spent a week in DC when he was nine.
Finn already knew almost as much about the Americans in
Normandy as our guide. It was my second trip to Normandy,
Bayeux tapestries etc but still a mind expanding emotional
trip.
Roman, Anna’s son,
joined us in Paris just in time for the fire. Tara and her
boys left while Roman stayed long enough to play tourist
in addition to joining the weeping throngs at Notre Dame,
witnessing a military cordoned off Place de Concorde with
a bombed car (didn’t make the news) and have trouble
leaving because of closed streets due to the Yellow vests
protests.
These boys will never forget
their first visit to Paris with more excitement than anticipated,
broken and or boarded up shop windows, street closures,
numerous vans filled with armed soldiers, armed soldiers
patrolling and finally our last day being locked in the
Tuileries with only one exit.
Roman and I also have traveled
to Seattle and spent a week in DC. His younger brother,
Desmond, did not have the same spring break but he and I
have traveled a lot including a week in Chicago.
They are all great travel
companions who enjoy going with me since I don’t over
program but I do abuse them by making them walk everywhere."
