Hi
from the North Carolina "Ice Cube",
This
last weekend our little burg got an un-healthy dose
of frozen rain.
We
slept in the basement during the worst of the storm
fearing that a tree could fall on our upstairs bedroom
during the night - one of the joys of living in
the "woods". Our Subaru and VW camper
were both damaged - the Subi may be totaled (pictures
enclosed). The neighbors in our 6 - house neighborhood
all turned to with chainsaws as soon as it was safe
to venture outdoors to clear our circle so the power
company crews could get their trucks in to turn
the lights back on.
Happily
our work van wasn't crunched, and it was handy to
have the van's 4 KW generator to power the refrigerator
and the freezer during the power outage.
Just
wanted to let you know of our "ice event",
and share some pictures.
Susan
and I (and our house) are doing very well - it could
have been a lot worst. We are waiting on the tree
service to arrive and remove some of the still hanging
"widow makers".
Warm
regards,
David & Susan
