Martin Birkenmeyer began her life on December 11, 1943 in Bradenton,
Fla. She grew up in Winter Park and graduated from Winter Park High

President of the United Way and also participated in the Meals on Wheels
program. In 1988, Clare moved back to Florida, establishing herself
in the Daytona Beach area. Here she served as Benefits Director of DBCC,
then as Director of member Acquisitions for Florida Health Care Plans.
She was closely involved with the Port Orange/South Daytona Chamber
of Commerce and the Volusia Manufacturer's Association. She is survived
by daughters Michelle Birkenmeyer of Port Orange and Lisa Birkenmeyer
Horn of Clermont; grandson, Tyler Horn; and sister, Anne Stone, of Ormond
Beach. Clare was a mentor to many and a loyal friend.

She always
had a smile on her face, and above all, she was a fiercely devoted, loving
mother. Though Clare may no longer be with us, the warmth and joy she
bestowed will be cherished always. Everyone whose heart has been touched
by Clare is invited to attend a celebration of her life. Clare passed
away January 13, 2007. The remembrance will be held at 3:00 p.m. on February
10th, 2007 at the top of The Caribbean, 2425 South Atlantic Ave, Daytona

can be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler.
