Jane McLean Brown

Jane McLean Brown

Jane M. Brown, died June 12, 2008 at the age of 65. Jane was born December 15, 1943 in Boston, Massachusetts.

The Brown family lived there about three years before moving to Vermont. Due to her Mom’s bad health, a few years later they moved to Winter Park, Florida where she attended elementary, junior high and Winter Park High School. Later, Jane lived in Sarasota for a few years, then in the Melborne area. Through the years, she always worked and seems to have a little hobby. Years ago she macramé lots of projects and always had a crocheted projects close at hand. She belonged to a boat club and helped run lots of activities. Jane always loved her yard, flowers, herbs and gardens. She loved pink, collected angels. She was even very big into body building for a while. She moved to Seattle about 10 years ago to be near her daughter Cyndi who she adored and missed very much. She loved the time they had together. Cyndi has her own doggie day care and Jane loved to assist her whenever she could. She loved those dogs and has always had one of her very own in her life. While in Seattle, Jane worked as an activities director of an assisted living facility. She loved her job and all the people were precious to her. She started getting sick about 6 years ago and had to leave her job. She had serious kidney problems and spent two years on dialysis, as well as many Doctors appointments. Though she eventually was able to stop the dialysis, which is unusual, her health continued to decline. She had serious back problems too, which left her in terrible and constant pain. Her COPD would have its flare ups and leave her a little weaker after each episode. Her latest hobby was “she loved to bake.” Especially biscotti and share it with everyone! She loved her cooking tools and gadgets and would always share the info she would read in the Cooks Magazine and in her special cookbooks. Her favorite TV show was COPS. She also let you know she had a standing date with John Walsh from his “America’s Most Wanted” show every Saturday night! She wouldn’t miss them!

In hopes that the warm weather would help, Jane moved to Escondido, California in November of 2007 and lived with her brother Stephen and his wife Phyllis. We all loved being together. She loved spending time with her nieces, nephews, and great ones too. Getting to really know everyone, Jane loved being a part of our family here and sharing in whatever was going on.

Jane Brown

She absolutely LOVED the sunshine and would go sit outside every morning for hours. She always said that she was meditating and praying as she sipped her coffee and watched and listened to all the beautiful music the birds would make. She had a couple stays in the hospital with her COPD, and every time she would come home a little weaker. Her last stay, she came home with Hospice care. They were wonderful and dear friends to Jane. She loved everyone she came in contact with. Her doctor, the nurses, the caretakers, the chaplain, they were each one so special to her. They cared for her with love, tenderness and great dignity. She loved the whole crew and knew they loved her back.

She fell asleep with the Lord on June 12, 2008 with her daughter by her side. She is survived by her daughter Cyndi Witschi of Seattle, brother Phillip M. Brown and his wife Bev of Largo, FL, brother Stephen M. Brown and his wife Phyllis of Escondido, CA, and sister Ann M. B. Jones of Columbia, TN. She also has nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, dear friends and extended family. We all miss her terribly but her spirit is forever in our hearts. We are so thankful we had our precious time together. In Jane’s puzzle of life, every person has been so special. Thank you for your part! I thank God for ours, and for blessing us with her. May her memory be eternal!

God Bless each and every one of you! Cyndi Witschi, Daughter
