Seadeek, Calvin Everett

SEADEEK, CALVIN EVERETT, 70, of Council Grove, KS passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at his residence.

He was born February 2, 1943 in Holland, New York to Everett and June (Wheeler) Seadeek.

Calvin married Linda Kay Smith on August 22, 1970 in Winterpark, FL, where he worked as a loan officer for several years before moving to New York. There he worked as a modular home salesman. Later he decided to remain closer to his boys by taking a position as a bus driver at the local school in Holland, NY. In 1993, Calvin took his family to Marion, KS and became members of Emmanuel Baptist Church. He was a deacon there and performed as the local Awana commander for several years. In Marion, he performed duties as a custodian and bus driver for USD 408 until his retirement in early 2008.

In November 2010, Calvin moved with his wife to be closer to his family to Council Grove, KS. Calvin enjoyed gardening, working puzzles with the grandkids, model trains and helping at S & S Outfitters. He truly loved spending time with his family, by being involved with their activities.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Calvin is survived by his wife Linda, of the home; sons, Calvin E. Seadeek, Jr. and wife Michele, of Council Grove and Michael T. Seadeek and wife Becky Jo, of Wilsey, KS; grandchildren, Courtney, Macy, Avery, Sierra and Riley Seadeek; sister, Pat Owens and husband George, of Chipley, FL; niece, Jane Matthews and nephew, Thomas Beyett.
