The
Senior Class this year, as has been the
tradition at Winter Park High School for
many years, is presenting a Christmas
formal to honor our alumni. The honorees
are the members of the Class of '58, but
all our graduates are warmly invited.
The Seniors are also hoping that many
of the Sophomores and Juniors will attend.
They are cordially invited.
As
in years past, five girls are elected
to be in the Christmas Court. From these
five, a queen is selected. The Queen is
not disclosed until the night of the formal.
This year's elected court is as follows:
Connie Finfrock, Sally Bergstrom, Sally
Crews, Joyce Grimm, and Marte Apgar.
Always
before the formal has been held at the
Rollins Student Center, but this year's
class had decided to have it in the Blue
Room of the Coliseum. Although this will
change the tradition slightly, the Seniors
believe that the dance will be more impressive
here. Besides there will be more room
for dancing.
The
Christmas Formal will be held on December
22, from 9:00-1:00. It will be the only
one of its kind given by the school over
the Christmas holidays. Also, this formal
is the second most important of the year.
It is second only to the Junior-Senior
Prom.
An
orchestra will be provided with the hall.
A catering service is also provided with
the hall, so that, too, will be wonderful.
The
orchestra which has been selected is one
of the best in Central Florida, and there
will also be some special entertainment.
this certainly sounds like it will be
a well remembered formal, since the Blue
Room has been newly redecorated.
The
Chairman of the dance committee, Craig
Distelhorst, has announced the price of
the tickets to be $1.50 per couple; Seniors
and alumni are admitted free. He is looking
forward to the best Christmas Formal in
the history of Winter Park High School. |
