MISS WINTER PARK CONTEST

Two of the girls from Winter Park High who competed in the semi-finals of the Miss Winter Park contest will be in the finals in April.

They are Pat Seacat and Carol Galloway. Besides being judged for beauty and personality, they are judged for talent. Pat read a selection, and Carol played the piano. Good luck gals!

PANIC IN SECOND ASSEMBLY

This story is being told for the students who attended the first assembly last Monday.

When the second assembly began, everything was going normal until the order was given to "open the flimsy rags." When the curtains opened, a bat flew out into the audience, and then the fun began.

The master-of-ceremonies, as surprised as everyone else, tried to adlib with a few remarks, but it didn't quiet the situation at all.

A few of those seen thrashing around in their seats were: Mrs. Tauscher, Sandy Reichwald, Sally Bergstrom, Joan Spaulding, Linda Lee, and Joyce Grimm.

This is one phase of science that the students who attended the first assembly missed.

The Sophomore Class was the host of the Sweetheart Dance last Saturday night in the cafeteria. Many factors went into making the dance a success, just one of which was the attractive decorations. Mary Ann Brown, who was in charge of the decoration committee, did a beautiful job of transforming our cafeteria into a Spring Fantasy ... Imitation flowers were strewn throughout the hall, and the Queen, Joanne Horvath, was crowned in a garden of pink flowers.

Music for the occasion was provided by a juke box. So all kinds of melodies flowed throughout the hall all evening.

The Queen, Joanne Horvath, was crowned by the President of the Sophomore Class, Steve Van Ore. Joanne was selected by penny votes from the students of the entire school. She was selected from an attractive court - Judy Reding, Paula Nagel, Jeannie Jones, and Sandy Cash.

CONGRATULATIONS JOANNE HORVATH --

QUEEN OF THE SWEETHEART DANCE.
