PARKERS
HOST OBC
Winter
Park is hosting the annual OBC tournaments February 12, 13,
14 in the Winter Park Gym. We are now tied for champs in OBC
conference play with Apopka and are trying for our third win
in the four years of tournament coompetition.
The 'Cats are working hard on
a new offense to use against Apopka. The new offense is slower
and more deliberate; much like that of Apopka's.
CAYLL
SETS NEW SCORING RECORD
Ron
Cayll set a new scoring record with 40 points in the Sanford
game January 30. He broke an old school record set by Jim Durant
in 1947 of 36 points.
CATS'
RECORD PRESENTLY 14-3
Under
the able coaching of Bill Gordon the Wildcats have compiled
a 14-3 present record.
Ron Cayll, leading Cat scorer,
and runner-up in the Orange County scoring race has an impressive
average of 17.7 points per game.
Mike Mosher, headman on the boards
is also nearing the school record for rebounds.
Lee Gartside has aided the Wildcat
victories with his fine work on defense.
Erving Broughton, a transfer from
Apopka has made an impressive record; especially against his
former teammates, when he hit for three foul shots in the closing
seconds of the game on January 16.
