SONNET
TO "PEANUTS"
|
Each
night I cannot wait to settle down
To read the comics in the evening paper.
I eagerly anticipate the caper
Of "Peanuts", led by good ole Charlie Brown.
I laugh until hilarity I've heared,
For they, still callow, have the spark of wit.
Though Snoopy puts me in a laughing fit,
I
grieved when Linus' blanket disappeared.
Sarcasm
and satire 'rouse my funny bone,
And "Peanuts" always has a contribution.
In cartoons surely it's an evolution
Of humor such as we have seldom known;
And as I close this work of laud in brief,
I make my final comment; "O, GOOD GRIEF"

A
SONNET OF SILENCE
|
The
winter world is silent.
The snow lies still on the ground.
A thick, white, all enfolding,
Sound absorbing carpet.
The birds in the trees, they are silent,
The rabbit beneath the thicket,
Makes no motion, no sound.
The hunting fox as though
Affected by the aura of peace.
Ceasea his vigil of death.
For the merest moment,
All life is silent.
For a while, there is peace and harmony.
A silent communion between the
Lord and his creatures. |

THE
FUTURE
|
What
will come in the years
Clouds or sun, joy or tears.
Will I see in endless ways,
The secrets of the unknown days.
What
is it that waits
To be put in memories gates,
A new life to take its first breath
Or perhaps the heart break of death.
