He loved his wife Judy and all of his family deeply, and he
was passionately committed to his profession. Chan practiced
law for forty-four years, specializing in criminal defense.
He cared deeply about our system of justice, the right of every
accused person to a fair trial, and believed no person was beyond

the Death Penalty. He was a Fellow of the American College of
Trial Lawyers, listed in the Best Lawyers in America, and a
Super Lawyer of Florida. He was very proud to have been a founding
member of the Florida Lawyers' Assistance Program. He was also

Account of a person on death row whom he had represented pro
bono more than thirty years ago, and who had no resources otherwise.
Chan was born October 7, 1943, in Denver, Colorado to Walter

New Jersey. Venturing out on their own from bases in Germany
and France, Edna and Bill often packed up the family to travel.
From a fishing village in Portugal to the salt mines of Germany;
from a Mediterranean cruise to a camel yard in Libya, Edna and
Bill embraced the opportunity to travel and explore. The family

made ninth grade English a joy, even if that did include grammar

tell you where they sat! While teaching she found time to get
her Masters Degree at Stetson University in literature. Lubon

A Boston native, he served on the board of many organizations

Thursday that said: "It is with a profound sense of loss
and sadness that we share with you the following news. Our
Rabbi Emeritus, Rabbi Mark Loeb, died Wednesday night in Milan,
Italy. He was there serving a congregation as its interim
rabbi enjoying Milan's culture, opera, and the many other

his love of politics," she said. "He was a champion
