Santa
soon will be around
To each and every little town.
There'll be gifts for Joan and Lee
And if I'm good, there'll be some for me.
Into
each and every house,
Down comes Santa like a mouse.
Peeking in our rooms to see,
If
we're asleep, like we should be.
Quietly
to the tree he skips,
Keeping balance with his two big hips.
Out of his bag, he takes the toys,
Just for the good little girls and boys.
Skates
for Joan, a football for Lee,
A cute little mama doll, especially for me.
A wristwatch for Mommy, Oh! she'll be glad,
Then comes a package from Santa to Dad.
Next
morning we jump up and run down,
To see what Santa has left to be found.
Happy are we, with excitement and cheer,
Knowing we will be good year after year.

CHRISTMAS
EVE
Tonight
the sky seems silver bright
and white snow blankets every hill.
The village lamps burn in the night,
The air is crisp, so cold and still.
Not
a creature stirs, the fawn and doe,
Hide in their home among the firs.
While in warm burrows safe from snow,
Neither bear nor field mouse stirs.
And
in the valley where the town
Snuggles up against the mountain steep,
Inside warm houses the lights go down
As valley people go to sleep.
Then
suddenly there is a sound
From up above, far far away;
As across the sky eight reindeer bound
Pulling Santa in his sleigh.
How
magically quick he and his deer
Light on each rooftop all around,
And as they leave, how high and clear
The sleigh bells ring above the town.
So
merrily sweet the church bells sing,
That bear and lamp and fox and fawn,
And little children slumbering,
Dream joyously of Christmas morn.
