'CATS-SANDCRABS TIE

Winter Park fought to a 6-6 tie with the Seabreeze Sandcrabs to make their record 6-1-2, with one game remaining with Apopka, plus a possible Brahman Bowl bid.
The Parkers rallied late in the second quarter on a 11-yard pass play from halfback John Jane to end Mike Hopkins.
The play was the result of two nice runs by Jane and a pass play to end Tom Morris. This set the stage for the initial scoring pass to Hopkins.
Tom Orr's try for the PAT was marred by a bad snap from center.
Seabreeze picked up their only score on a brilliant run by fullback Bill Lager.

PARKERS END APOPKA WIN SKEIN

A blocked punt and a bad snap from center aided the Winter Park Wildcats to a thrilling 13-7 win over previously unbeaten Apopka in the Tangerine Bowl, giving them the honor to play in the 4th Annual Brahman Bowl tilt, Dec. 5th.
The Wildcats got their first score in the opening quarter when tackle David Morgan crashed through the Darters line to block a Jerome Shaw punt. With the ball on the Apopka 26, the Cats moved to the one-yard line in a series of plays, where quarterback Mike Mosher ploughed off-tackle for the score. Tommy Ross's try for point was good and the 'Cats led 7-0.
The Blue Darters fought back gamely and moved deep into Wildcat territory before the first half ended. On a fourth down situation Darter quarterback Shaw found halfback Larry Blackwelder in the end zone, and tossed him a perfect strike for the score. The PAT was good, and the half ended in a 7-7 deadlock.
With two minutes remaining in the third quarter, the Darters had a punting situation with the ball resting on their own 20-yrd. line. Shaw went back to punt, but a bad snap from center sent the ball sailing over his head and into the end zone. Shaw retrieved the ball only to be smothered by a host of Parkers on the Darter one.
Mosher then went over for his second TD of the night. Ross's try for the point was not good.
With only two minutes remaining in the game, the Darters moved at a steady pace to the Parker two. A courageous crew of Wildcats turned the Darters wayward from a score.
The 'Cats took over on downs, only to fumble the ball back to the hungry Blue Darters. But again the Cats sturdy forward wall slammed the door in their foes faces.
Winter Park took over and held out to the final gun.
Winning this game closed out the 'Cats regular season play with a 7-1-2 mark.
