EXPERIENCE
IN A CLASSROOM
|
Have
you ever noticed
Lines in a classroom floor
That lead from window to door,
And wondered just how long they were there? |
A
long time, that's for sure
And you think as you stare,
Many students must have walked this floor
To tread it quite so bare. |
Just
think of all the years,
The teaching, the fun
And the many accomplishments
That here have been done. |
Perhaps
over the years
A few of those lines were worn
By parents dissatisfied
With grades homeward borne. |
I
grow thoughtful as I realize
My time in the classroom is coming to an end.
It is rather saddening for-
It's the same as losing a friend. |
Before
too many years go by,
My face will resemble the classroom floor,
With lines to represent each facet
Of my life until God closes the final door. |
