HORIZONS 1961 has been shared with us by Loni Abbotts Humbert. Thanks for sharing, Loni!

THE DOOR

Their first date
Came home late
Her mom awaits
At door!!

See Mom Scowl
Now she yowl
"Why weren't you
In before?

Car broke down
Outside of town
Or was it "time" you
Did ignore?"

Scared girl stutters
So boy mutters,
"Afraid our excuse is
Kinda poor!"

Neighborhood was quiet
But now...a riot
Like a lion did
Ma roar

And from a window
Ever so low
An old shoe
Did soar

Girl and boy duck
Ma out of luck
Shoe knocked her back
In door!!

TIME

Trees decay
But the dawn
Still comes
And time marches on

THE SEA

The sea crashes, ripples
Clawing at the rocks
Caressing the sands
The surf roars
Them trickles

The sea crashes, ripples
Gnawing great continents
To mother minute isles
The currents rush
Then creep

The sea crashes, ripples
It buoys great icebergs
Or gulls
The tides flood
Then fall

The sea crashes, ripples
Its depths harbor the fierce
And the meek
It gives life
Or takes

RAIN

Rain's a gift
To all who live
Sent by God to us;
Its thrashing torrents
Gentle mists
Bring life to dying, drying things.

What marvelous miracles
It performs
When life's about to leave
A masterpiece,
Created
Blessed
By God - the Eternal God
