AN
ASPIRATION
|
A
tropical island
Way
out in the sea;
Tall, coconut palm trees--
That's really for me!
The waves rollin' up
And splashin' the shore,
A soft summer breeze--
Gosh, who could want more?
Shells in the sand
To beachcombers' delight,
They glisten like silver
Deep into the night.
A little grass hut,
A place to call "home".
With somethin' like this
There'd be no cause to roam.
Well, they say dreams are harmless,
Though they seldom come true--
Yet, I'd still like to be there,
My gosh, wouldn't you??

WHAT
IS SCHOOL?
|
What
is a school?
A
school is more than brick and mortar, more than classrooms
and books and grade cards. A school is the smell of chalk
dust and the restless squeak of seats a moment before the
tardy bell rings. It's the loneliness of walking by empty
seats in a darkened auditorium and the sense of belonging
that comes from hearing a friendly "Hi, Sue" or
"Hello, Jay." A school is all of these and many
more. For the real spirit of school lies not in the beauty
of the campus or in the newness of its building, but in the
thoughts and actions of its students and faculty.

INFINITY
|
Infinity
is my possession
No one knows its worth but me
It has become my one obsession
And I enjoy it greedily.
Perhaps
some day I'll find a lover
And introduce him to me private world
But till that day I'm going to hover
In Infinity, with trials unfurled.
I
pity a mortal who lives but one life
And cannot go on endlessly
Such men know only struggle and strife
But I own Infinity.
