B-47 EXPLODES
Members of Glenridge faculty and many Glenridge students witnessed the explosion of the B-47 on October 9 about 11:00 A.M.
The plane had just taken off from Pine Castle when the pilot must have realized he was in trouble and tried to make for a less populated area. He succeeded in reaching the relatively open fields between Ben White's Raceway before the plane exploded, sending the pilot and three passengers to their death.

WALTER FARLEY TO ATTEND BOOK FAIR
The famous author, Walter Farley, is coming to the Central Florida Book Fair, November 2 through 6. He will be one of forty-one authors present at the Orlando Garden Center for the first nationally sponsored book fair ever to be held in Florida.
Everyone who loves horses and has never had one enjoys Mr. Farley's books about the Black Stallion.
Glenridge students are urged to attend the Book Fair.

HERE'S GLENRIDGE
SPIRIT

During the Lakeview game, Glenridge lost the score on a T.D. when a referee didn't see a fake play. He later admitted that he had been in error, but, of course the score didn't count. Two of our players stepped up and patted the referee on the back and said, "That's all right. We all make mistakes". The referee was visibly moved by this fine display of sportsmanship.
All of Glenridge says "Thanks" to Johnny Cash and Gene Mooney for demonstrating the Glenridge way of doing things.

RED CROSS DRIVE
GOAL    100%
The Junior Red Cross Drive is now going on in Glenridge. All students are urged to make their contributions to their homeroom representatives of the American Red Cross so that Glenridge will be among the schools achieving 100% membership.
Butch Cullifer, 7-1, has brought in the top amount -- $7.60. Diann Hagen, 7-7, has brought in $6.86. Marthabel Husmann claims that 9-3 was first to reach 100% but reported no amount.

1000 LION FANS
ATTEND GAME
Glenridge romped to the second highest score in its football history in the October 10 game against Lakeview's "Baby Red Devils".
Bill Buttery sprinted 80 yards in the first half for the first T.D. Another touchdown was scored when Charlie Matthews sent a 20 yard pass to Rusty Doolittle. Ray Myers' 6 yard splurge accounted for the final T.D. Eugene Mooney and Ray Myers made the extra points.

WE RETRACT
An article in our October 1 issue gave the impression that the Acqua-Maids were paid for their work in the water ballet.
The Glenridge girls who are swimming with the Acqua-Maids are not on salary. Several of these swimmers are members of A.A.U. and are carefully guarding their amateur standing.
