KILT |
OCTOBER
29, 1957 |
THE
TARTAN TATTLER
A
GRASS SNAKE, ABOUT 12 INCHES long, worked
his (?) way out of the aquarium in the room
Mr. Williams shares with Coach Vickers.
You never saw such a scramble for chair
tops. Imagine the poor reptile's dilemma
having to stare up at all those crinolines!
Harold Fanning was the hero who retrieved
the wayward creature. |
The
Racquet Club was bulging on Oct. 19 when
Phyllis Bischard gave her Halloween Party.
The club was decorated in the traditional
orange and black, and all who attended claim
this was really a super event.
Seen
enjoying it all were; Phyllis, the hostess,
Rusty Doolittle, Sandy Cash, Dewey Ramsby,
Mona Barnhart, Vernon Duncan, Judy Teague,
Pudd Mudd, Karen Rothrock, Steve Toothaker,
Jim Bond, Carol Cubbage, Joann Horvath,
Frank Ferguson, Sandy Flowers, Charles Matthews,
Carl Kettles, Rita Rogers, Ronnie Caloss,
Steve Cook, Chan Muller, Paula Nagle, Ray
Myers, Jeannie Jones, Becky Thornton, Linda
Borden, Fran Ussery, Jackie Cook, Paul Bene,
Mary Ann Brown, Jackie Billingham, Fred
Good, Robin McKenzie, Judy Reding, Tom Massebeau,
Sam Leatherbury, Chet Cornwall, John Cash,
JoAnn Ross, Fred Hale, Heather Marwick,

and Kathy Kettles. |

Mr.
Weidley's fourth period math class had a blushing
contest. Bill Dick and Buddy Heckendorn were
tied until Cathie Skinner walked past the
door. Bill broke into a lovely rosy blush
and Heckendorn won. Cindy Flowers and Steve
Stevenson also competed. |

MR.
VICKERS HAS A GARTER SNAKE, a scarlet king
snake and four fish. They had a box turtle
but he escaped. Looks like everyone is trying
to get in on the animal act. |

LAST
WEDNESDAY GLENRIDGE teachers were given a
demonstration on how to put out a fire. All
very worthwhile. What the teachers really
need is an antidote for all the buck fever
their students are coming down with. |

WHICH
CHERRY PIE BIT THE DUST in the main hall?
What made it even sadder was that Betty Story
has just won one of the top three prizes. |

DON'T
THE COACHES WISH CERTAIN LIONS made the yardage
on the football fiend they do charging to
that second lunch shift! |
Jane
Mitchell, one of our fun-loving 8th graders,
thru a "Splash Party" recently.
About 36 people were present. Among those
enjoying the cool water of the sky blue pool
were; Ann Jenkins, Nancy Collins, Brenda Smith,
Sally Tyler, Pam Anderson, Judy Kirkpatrick,
Linda Hallett, Linda Myrick, Carole Lober,
Jeanne Britt, Connie McDowell, Patti Wilson,
Sandy Apgar, Don O'Farrell, Joe Chimente,
Bill Collier, Tom Newbold, Bill Dick, Corky
Higgins, Jim Stokes, Bob Mikesell, Lance Howden,
Jim Henry, Bob Ross, Keith Caldwell, Steve
Stevenson, Liz Bennett and Norene Light. |

IS
IT A COINCIDENCE THAT A 9th grader with a
Ram in his name carries out the goat theme
by butting the lunch line every day? |
******************** |
DID
YOU KNOW THAT MR. JONES TREATS our Lions to
a free sundae at the Dairy Queen every time
they win a game? |

EVERYONE
SEEMS SO SURPRISED WHEN they discover that
Mrs. Allen in our front office is an expert
violinist. She's been fiddling with our newly
organized orchestra, which everyone has such
high hopes for. |
Patty
Saline gave a party on October 18. Lance Howden,
Jeff Arnold, Bob Mikesell, Alan Price, Jim
Stokes, Tim Darrah, Richard Clark, Chad Price,
Pam Fetro, Carol Uhl, Eleanor Nelson, and
Cathy Buchanan had a lot of fun playing games,
and dancing. |

SOME
OF OUR LION FANS GOT VERY COZY at the game.
Nothing like a raincoat to make lots of friends
when it starts to rain. |
