So she sews? Why not wrap her gift in fabric - enough for an apron or a blouse. Hold the ends with safety pins, then tie a measuring tape around the package. Bias tape and thread may be used to decorate the top of the package.
For little girls who play with dolls use a wrap they'll find handy on wash day. Wind light weight clothes line around the gift so it is parallel on the top and crossed on the bottom. Clip colored clothes pins on the lines across the top of the package.
Any golfer will get a kick out of practice balls tied onto his gift with sporty plaid shoelaces. If the package is small you can wrap it in a man's handkerchief.

New ideas for party fun during the holidays: For the invitations, print the information on narrow colored streamers. Roll each tightly, and tuck inside a deflated balloon and mail in envelope. Each person must blow up the balloon and break it to get at the invitation.
Provide the gang with crepe paper, feathers, pins, and tape. The one who makes the craziest hat wins.
Dancing and eats round out the fun.

Combine in a double boiler: 2 lbs. caramels, 1/4 cup black coffee, heat until caramels are melted.

Wash and dry 10 apples. Put a wooden stick in each apple and dip them into the hot sauce. Place bottom of apples in chopped nuts, then set aside on wax paper in refrigerator to get firm.

Christmas is a time of cheer
I wish it lasted all the year.

All the mistletoe and holly,
All the folks whose hearts are jolly.

All the goodies, spicy and sweet;
More than enough for a child to eat.

John Applebee

Christmas Time is
The time for joys
The time for fun and
The time for noise

The time for worship
And the time for prayer
The time to feel
The time to care

The time to give and
The time to love
The time to remember
Him above.

Harriet Sullivan

Christmas is a time for giving. There is nothing new in that idea. But too often our gift thinking is in a material vein, and we worry and fret because our allowances just don't take care of the kind of gifts we want to give.
Have you thought of giving gifts of service? If you find yourself flat financially, sit down and think of all the gifts of service you might give to those you love.
For a hard-working, and weary Mother, what could be nicer than a gift certificate of breakfast in bed four weekend mornings of her choosing?
Dad, who just can't find the time to get all the chores done on the weekends, would surely appreciate two car washes and a polish job.
Little sister might be thrilled to pieces with a certificate giving her one whole Saturday of your time for a special excursion. And what small brother wouldn't think it was super to be given a fishing trip for him and a friend?
With a little thought, you should be able to make a long list of gifts of service. Be sure to make them out in certificate form, perhaps in rhyme, and wrap them up with all the special attention you'd give to the most expensive gift.
1. Carving sets for woodchucks.
2. Copies of "Who's Who" for owls.
3. Trust funds for pelicans so they can pay their bills.
4. Elevator shoes for giraffes whose growth has been stunted.
5. Extra stripes for zebras so they can be either all black or all white.
6. A tranquilizer for Papa to be delivered on January first with the bills.
