The March winds convinced us!
We must get the grass in now before our 18 acres
depart for a new location.
Mr.
Stockard has a landscaping plan guaranteed to
make Glenridge the most beautiful school in the
country, but, in this gritty emergency, sod comes
first. We want St. Augustine grass. Buy it, beg
it, "borrow" it . . . but get it down!
The
Happy Farmers of 8-1, under the "gentle"
prodding of Mr. Allabough, are converting their
Sahara into a charming patio. Anyone trodding
on their sod, Beware! Muscle Man Mosher is in
charge of punishment! Incidentally, don't scoff
at those sticks stuck in neat rows. We'll all
have poinsettias next Christmas.
Mr.
Kent has driven the peasants of 7-7 out to plant.
Sharon Spelzhausen brought the grass. Seen toiling:
Sharon MacDonald, Chan Muller, Chip Lipps, Howard
Sullivan, and Marcia Gruber. It looked like fun!
7-5
has caught the green thumb from Mr. Wood. Or does
he excuse them from math? They have almost covered
their patio space with something that promises
one day to be grass. Their sprinkler goes constantly. |
Frank
Ferguson is Head of Horticulture in 7-8. (He donated
the grass.) His slaves are Butch Ouzts and Al
McChristy. The girls want to get into the act,
too, Frank.
Members
of 8-6 were seen measuring the plot of ground
in front of Room 6. Is it possible they intend
to put down their green carpet by the square yard?
Bright idea! Remember, they are the bright apples
who walked away with 8th grade honors in the magazine
drive--also the Round-Robin basketball game. Watch
these pacemakers!
SCOTTY
SAYS: "If you really want to get on the right
side of your teacher, stop polishing apples and
start planting the sod!"
