On April 10, third period, Mr. Stockard called the entire 8th grade together in the cafetorium to discuss next year's schedule and to get a view of the future years.

Students are given a choice of four different courses to follow throughout their high school careers. The courses are Special Areas, General, Academic, and Strict Academic.

The General course provides for vocational training where the student may learn a special trade or art. This course will train students for a trade and is offered to those who are not planning to attend college.

The Academic course prepares students for entrance into most colleges.

The Strict Academic course prepares students for entrance into even the most strict colleges.

Papers are distributed which explained the courses offered for next year. The students were asked to consult their parents and choose the courses they preferred. Another sheet which tentatively covered all high school courses was also distributed. Choices which the students made concerning the entire high school career may be changed at the beginning of each school year.

Good news! The 8th grade class of '55-'56 will be the first graduating class from Glenridge.

On the evening of April 13, this question was put before the P.T.A. It was decided that the 8th grade classes would remain here for the following year.

At the present we have enough money to build 5 new classrooms. These rooms are expected to be finished in December, 1956, at the earliest. Until these rooms are completed, classes will be held in every room, including the cafetorium, shop, art room and both Phys. Ed. departments. In all there will be 25 homerooms. Every class room will be occupied every period.

The classes will be extremely large. The 7th grade classes will contain from 37 to 40 students. The 8th grade will have approximately 36 students and the 9th grade 34 students in each homeroom.

Thirteen new teachers are needed. These will include another physical ed. teacher for the girls and one for the boys. It is possible we may have a Dean of Girls and a Dean of Boys.

We will have new Glenridge students from Audubon Park, Lakemont, Killarney, and the Winter Park Elementary schools during the 1956-57 school year.
