Winter
Park High School can be very proud of
her alumni. Many of them have brought
back top honors to their Alma Mater. Bobby
Sue Salisbury, graduate of '57, is performing
as a Rockette at the Radio City Music
Hall in New York City. She has also appeared
on television for the annual Macy's Christmas
Parade, and Omnibus, which televised the
backstage life of Radio City Music Hall.
T.
J. Osteen, Class of '55, who is know in
New York City as Tom Asteen, has won for
himself the title "The best male
dancer in New York." He is appearing
weekly on the Pat Boone Show and may soon
start dancing on the Arthur Murray Dance
Party.
Kip
Watson, Class of '58, is attending the
New York Ballet Theatre School which is
the biggest ballet company in the United
States. He has been on tour with the company
and has had small parts at the Metropolitan
Opera House.
These
present and future stars owe a large part
of their dancing careers to the Royal
School of Dance, who gave their expert
advice and training to start them along
their way to stardom.
Richard
S. Todd, graduate of '58, was selected
as one of the Honormen at the Recruit
Training Center, U.S. Naval Training Command,
Great Lakes, Illinois. These honormen
are selected on the basis of their performance
in leadership, sportsmanship, military
bearing, initiative, response to orders,
general cleanliness, qualifications of
a good shipmate, and high scholastic standing.
This honor was bestowed upon Ricky by
Captain Carl E. Bull, Commanding Officer.
Bob
Jump, graduate of '55, has been elected
to Eta Kappa Nu, a national electrical
engineering honor society. Bob is a Junior
at the University of Cincinnati. He has
been on the Dean's list at the University
since he was a Freshman. Bob was quite
the musician at Winter Park High, and
he still plays cornet in the University
Marching Band. |
