Class News
The 1960 annual Christmas Formal will
be held on December 21t at the Bahia Temple from 9:00 'till 1:00. Bill
Vauter's Band will supply the dreamy music to which Senior, Alumni,
and their dates will be dancing.
Seniors and Alumni may bring underclassmen or guests
for the price of $2.50 each. Underclassmen, therefore, can attend only
as guest of the Seniors or alumnus, contrary to previous rumors. Invitations
to the Formal have been sent out to last year's graduates.
Do not miss this "gala" affair.
SENIORS: Order blanks for graduation announcements
will be sent to Senior homerooms after Christmas. These formal announcements
have already been chosen by the class officers.
Fads
& Fashions
By Jeannie Jones
Well
gang! Thanksgiving is gone and Christmas is on its way. Looks like the
Christmas spirit is coming out in all of us. Bright colors of red, gold
and green are back again. Johnny Ridenour has caught Joyce Jones' eye
by wearing his new olive green and gold shirt with matching pants. Janet
Squillante certainly keeps Ned Whitner looking when she wears that cute
blue print sheath. Barb McCartney really flips when Julius wears his
blue and white striped T-shirt. Marcia Gruber has been seen with Frank
Ferguson and Buster Judy in her lavender sweater and short flared skirt.
Looks like December is going to be a good month for
young couples and their new fads and fashions.

This
week, for the first time, W.P.H.S. Sainted Seniors actually saw their
high schools dreams of Senior Privileges become a reality. Monday officially
marked orientation of four new Senior Privileges.
They are as follows:
(1) Only Seniors cars will be parked along the
south-side of Huntington Avenue.
(2) During the first five minutes of each lunch shift
only Seniors will be served in the left hot-lunch line.
(3) The Southwest door of the auditorium will be used
only by Seniors during assemblies and other functions taking place in
Jr.
Class News
The
Junior Class had a meeting Tuesday, November 22 with President Mike
Kelly presiding.
The 10 dozen blue and white sweat shirts have been
ordered, and are expected to be here before Christmas vacation.
A committee composed of the four Junior Class Officers
will be in charge of all the prom committees. Rita Dunn and Pat Erle
are working on the "Program" Committee, Ginny Ussery on the
"Refreshment" Committee, Mike Kelly on the "Entertainment"
Committee, and Pat Erle is in charge of "Publicity".
Admittance to the prom will continue to be limited
to Juniors and SENIORS of Winter Park High School and their dates. There
will be a charge of one dollar for anyone other than a Junior or SENIOR
at this school.
The treasurer reports that the class has $730.10 to
date without the subtraction of some unpaid bills. The class made $494.25
on the "Junior Class Play" but the bills for the play were
approximately $210.00. Thus, the class netted about $292.00 on the play.
It has been suggested that the Junior Class buy rubber
stamps to sell for one dollar as a money making project. These stamps
would be sold to the students with their names upon them.

during school hours.
(4) The front walk way in front of the Senior door is
for Seniors use only.
These privileges were passed by the Student Council,
the student body, and the administration. Underclassmen are expected to
respect these enactment's. It is the official duty of every Senior to
report violators to the Student Council officers who will take immediate
action.
Congratulations, Senior! You worked long and hard for
these, so don't let anyone get away with breaking them!
Sophomore
Side
The
news is out! A sophomore class dance, barring further mix-ups, will be
reality. Scheduled sometime soon after the first of the year, the dance
is informal and will be held in the cafeteria. Look for information as
to a definite date and time next week.
The Christmas job fad has hit even the sophomores. Those
gals earning extra money for presents include Fran Glover and Melba Horne
According to the latest word, there will be a party
given for all the hardworking teachers in the Homemaking Department during
the last week before Christmas vacation. Right now in the department,
sophomores, along with a few juniors and seniors, can be seen hard at
work making decorations for the gala party. More later...
Has anyone seen Mary Cash's circle pin? She lost it
in the 100-200 building last week and would appreciate its return, if
found. Hope you get it back, Mary.
Sorry Dorinda Duncan wasn't on Ch. 9 Bandstand last
weekend as stated in last week's column. Watch Ch. 9 Bandstand on Saturday,
Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. and you'll see Dorinda singing her new hits, IT'S CHRISTMAS
TIME and HAPPY LITTLE STAR. The latter was written by Dorinda. They'll
soon be available at your neighborhood record shop.
The sophomore basketball teams are having fun in GAA
competition. Pat Brown's team had a 1-2 won-lost record at writing, while
Eleanore Swan's team had a 2-1 record. Good going!!
