FUTURE HOMEMAKERS

     Tests were given at the January 27th meeting of the F.H.A. for the Junior Homemaking Degree. The following have passed and have ordered their pins: Pat Engle, Lynne Marshall, Pat Brown, Mickey Watts and Donna Oswald. Plans for having a bake sale sometime in the month of February were also discussed.

THESPIANS READY PLAY

     "It's a rare beauty." These are the words of Thespian President, Ronny Bissland, concerning the play "Maudie and the Opposite Sex," which the Thespians will present in the near future.
     This three-act play, starring Lynda Bussels, is centered around the love life of Maudie Mason and her boyfriend, Davie (Ronny Bissland). Other members of the cast include: Pat Seacat as Maudie's married sister, Sylvia; Julie Meers as Lynn, Sylvia's friend; Burgess Lynch and George Sprinkel as the girls' parents; and Bob Bidwell as Mr. Endicott, the bachelor and author with whom Maudie falls in love.
     Jean Mason plays Terry; Ann Taylor plays Bev; Sherry Veterlein is Pat; Birgitta Lamborn portrays Sandy; Molly Darrah enacts Marge; and Jim Hamilton is the life guard.

BANDS' CONCERT HUGE SUCCESS

     The Ninth Annual Winter Pop Concert, featuring the concert bands of Glenridge Junior High and Winter Park High presented, before more than 600 people, an excellent program in the high school auditorium.
     A delicious spaghetti dinner was served in the cafeteria before the performance. The Glenridge Junior High band, under the direction of Don C. Jennings, started the program off promptly at 8:00 p.m. with such popular hits as "Woodwind Wonderland," "The Welsh Folk Suite," and "Toccata."
     At the height of the evening "The Best Band in the Land," Winter Park High School's band, directed by Edgar W. Williams, played such famous numbers as "Pride of the Purple," "The Waltzing Cat," George Gershwin favorites, and an overture from "My Fair Lady."
