Do
you think underclassmen should be able to attend the Senior-Alumni
Christmas Formal without being invited?
Pat Clark: "I think yes!"
Sara Moores: "Sophomores would never
have a chance to go to a formal dance if it were only for Seniors
because the Prom is for Seniors and Juniors only."
Bill Schwartz: "I don't believe underclassmen
should be admitted unless they have a senior or alumni date."
Lynn Furr: "As far as crowded conditions
go, I agree on having only Seniors and Alumnae. However, the
more people, the more fun and I think the sophomore are entitled
to one formal."
Pat Stephenson: "Why not?"
Chip Schram: "As long as my junior date
gets to go, I'm satisfied!"
Stu Smith: "As long as underclassmen have senior or alumnae
dates I see no reason why they can't attend."
Sue Sturges: "Sure, why not?" |

Class News

The
Junior Class is really having its hands full this year. Many
projects are being undertaken to raise money for the Junior-Senior
Prom in April.
The Theme Committee is busily coming up with
all sorts of ideas to make for a grand finale to a great year.
Every possibility for a theme is being covered, so it's sure
to be a spectacular thing.
The selling of a new type of sweat-shirt,
black with white letters is being discussed, as it appeals to
more people.
All in all, our Junior Class has got quite
a load on its back, and needs all the cooperation it can get
from the rest of the school, in making money. |

Sophomore
Side |
Many
sophomore band members will be playing the salute to the flag in the
morning, so listen well. The last Wednesday in September we all listened,
but not a note was heard. It seems Barry (M.) was practicing so hard
for his "debut" that he forgot when it was!!! All in fun!
(P.S. Better luck next time, Barry!!)
A million apologies to Leslie
King, who we left out in the list of sophs on the Varsity football
squad.

Winter
Park Wildcats played their finest two quarters last Friday night as
they faced the Cocoa Tigers in Cocoa. The first half of the game was
the best offensive drive we have had all year with new faces in the
backfield along with some old ones who proved that there are really
some hard driving backs, after all. Keeping this in mind, we'll do
a fine job of ruining Lakeview's Homecoming tomorrow night as they
ruined ours in our 1959 meeting.
Injuries, officials in the way, a costly fumble,
and uncontrollable tempers all led to the Wildcats downfall in the
second half. The team was having a lot of unnecessary trouble with
the officials in the game, for they always seemed to be getting in
the way during a very decisive play, such as in a key tackle or else
they would run in towards the path of the ball carrier, only to cause
confusion and conflict... The "reffs" are only human like
the rest of us so we have to grin and bear it.
Incidentally, the Tigers won 20-0, scoring in the
first and third quarters. Three different men scored with two tally's
in the third quarter.
Outstanding offense in the backfield this week is
Gary Dokter with a total of 43 yards to his credit during the game
against Cocoa. This 145 lb. senior halfback possesses the first quality
that a coach looks for in a football player: to have the desire to
pay up to his best. Dokter displays this at all times on the practice
field or the playing field. Congratulations to Gary Dokter, this week's
Wi-Pa-Hi-Sc outstanding player. |

Did
you know that the W.C.W. Tri-Hi-Y is really going strong with over
70 hard working members? Much thanks to the S.S.S. Tri-Hi-Y for their
financial backing! Their first project is still in the planning stage.
Sophomore question: Are transistor radios allowed
on the campus? It's not in the handbook. |
