HORIZONS 1961 has been shared with us by Loni Abbotts Humbert. Thanks for sharing, Loni!

THIS WORLD WE LIVE IN

As I watch the morning sun break thru the clouds;
As I see the moon and stars emerge at night;
As I carry out my duties throughout the day;
As I drift from the noise filled world to peaceful
     peaceful dreamless sleep;
I often wonder how and why this world has come to be.

The sea, with its mystic depths;
The sky, with its endless realms;
The jungle, with its untold of secrets;
The desert, with its steaming sands;
As I see these strange and wondrous creations,
     I realize what a miraculous world I'm in;
And this knowledge is all I need, to be at ease within.

IMPRESSIONS

Gently,
     The salt air drifts through the car window
     And I know that I am at the beach
     Even before I notice the golden sun
Shining
     Brightly over the shimmering, crystal water.

Drifting,
     The fulls dip and glide over the white caps
     into the water
     And they call to one another as glistering wings,
     Swooping over the waves rise, and fly toward the
          setting sun.
