IT'S THAT TIME AGAIN

This week begins a series of events that some students meet as a challenge, and others consider a form of torture. We refer, of course, to Exams, and Report Cards and the first P.T.A. meeting, when teachers and parents get together for their first conferences.

The Kilt Staff wishes you luck, even while we know it is labor not luck that makes the difference in this suspenseful sequence.

In case you aren't happy about your first report card on October 16, turn over a new leaf, get to work, and look forward to the next one on November 27.

SAVE YOUR KILTS!!!

Most Glenridge students save their KILTS because they want a record of their life at school. Those of you who haven't as yet started your collection had better start now because we're going to have a surprise for you Kilt savers.

Don't forget -- take home your Kilts for your parents to read, and then SAVE THEM!

An ignorant person is one who doesn't know anything about what you know, and knows things you don't know anything about.

A modest pat on the back develops character -- if given young enough, often enough and low enough.

BAND AWARDED "G"

Last June Glenridge "G"s were given to eleven members of the band for outstanding service to Glenridge. These students were: Steve Van Ore, Carol Skelton, Sheila Clarke, David Farr, David Eckhart, Heather Marwick, Sharon Carter, Carol Streep, Perky McKim, Carol Spence, and Linda Merhill.

The "G"s represent many hours of practice and drill, as well as constant attendance to play at games and appear in parades to represent Glenridge. No other activity in school requires more time or devotion. These band members should wear their "G" with pride.

LOOKING IN THE LIBRARY

Those of you who think love is always "lovely" ought to read the book, IS THIS MY LOVE? by Gertrude E. Finnay.

This is the story of old England, and the shipment of 100 maids to Jamestown, where they were intended to marry the settlers.

Beatrice Whitcliff and her good friend Jennifer Abbot are sent on this romantic mission. Beatrice finds that she has quite a choice of the Jamestown men, and the story deals with the events leading up to her final decision.

Gertrude E. Finnay has also written SLEEPING MINES, MUSKETS ALONG THE CHICKAHOMINY and THE PLUMS HANG HIGH.
