LIONS BEAT APOPKA
TWO  ASSEMBLIES  ENTERTAIN

     In the third quarter their team scored, but Glenridge opened full throttle in the fourth period. Chuck Butler found a hole and ran an exciting 65 yards to get his first T.D. of the year. Apopka received the kickoff, but fumbled on their own 30 and the Lions recovered and shoved the ball to the Apopka 2 yard line, and Steve Toothaker rammed through to make the schore 19-7.

STUDENT COUNCIL
WORKS ON GROUNDS

     The Student Council Committee, for beautification has organization a watering squad with Keith Caldwell in charge. Bob Mikesell, Bruce MacMillan, Dewey Ramsby, and Steve Toothaker will assist.

     The squad in charge of spreading topsoil are Jim Rich, Richard Clark, JoAnn Ross, Linda Schmidt, Richard Clarke, Max Morris, Ricky Michaels, Deedra Dickinson, Jennie Craig, Mary Sheldon, Betty Sory, Susan Graves, Al Fesus, Nancy Temple, Chad Price, David Llewellyn, Gary Coppedge, Lynn Morrow, and Mary Ellen Martina.

     Susan Graves and Lynn Morrow will be in charge of the Student Council Candy Counter open every afternoon.

WHO IS PATROLLMAN
OF THE MONTH?

     Who is the Patrolman of the month? How can you identify him? What is special about him that is different from all of the other safety patrol? Pay particular attention to his uniform!

 

     Liquid Oxygen was the topic of Capt. MacKenzie's program on November 5. He began by explaining the qualities of this element. The most unusual quality is that Oxygen remain liquid only at degrees 312 below zero.

     Capt. MacKenzie performed 15 or 20 experiments to show the effect liquid oxygen has on various materials.

     He was assisted in his experiments by Paul Bene, Clark Lambert, and Donald Kirkham.

COLLEGE NIGHT ON
NOVEMBER 19

     All Glenridge students who are interested in learning more about college requirements are invited to attend College Night, November 19, 8 PM at Edgewater High School.

     Representatives from many colleges will be present to discuss the preparation for college.

     Are you writing for The Plaid? Deadline date for this first issue is November 27. That means you only have two weeks in which to finish your short stories, essays, poems, articles, or plays.

SEVENTH GRADE
CHORUS TO MEET

     All seventh grade students interested in joining the Seventh Grade Chorus should meet with Mrs. Weidley during Activity Period on Wednesday for try-outs.

 

     Glenridge's new Glee Club made its debut at an assembly on November 5. Under the direction of Mrs. Weidley the club sang The Song of the Four Freedoms, Return to Sorrento, I'll Never Walk Alone, and The Battle Hymn of the Republic.

     Pat Clark, president of the Glee Club announced the selections. Bob Reynolds was the accompanist.

     Faculty and students gave the singers a rousing applause.

GLEE CLUB TO LEAD
CAROL SING

The Glenridge Glee Club has been invited to be the guiding core of the Winter Park Christmas Sing on Dec. 19, at the Recreation Center. This group was specifically sought because the people of Winter Park feel the Glenridge Spirit will add to the Christmas Spirit.

Plan now to attend this event!
