THE KILT
March 18, 1958

"We the students of Glenridge, in order to form a more perfect school establish this code of rules ........"
Sounds very familiar, doesn't it? The preamble of our United States Constitution expresses a wish of the people to form a more perfect union or government. Our early Americans fought bravely for this cause. They fought for the Democratic way of life. But you, the students, don't have to go to war to establish a more perfect school government.
To make our school more democratic the students of Glenridge have been asked to set up their own code of conduct. Isn't this a better way than having teachers and administrators always making the rules and being forced into police duty to maintain them?
Take advantage of this opportunity. Make the code of conduct you believe necessary; and then enforce the code yourselves.

Diane Van Cort

The Gold Badge is awarded to a patrol boy each month who has given Glenridge outstanding service. This badge is one way of honoring these boys who serve day in and day out in a job with many headaches and few rewards. Faculty and other members of the patrol select the boy to be honored.
This month David Compton is wearing the badge. Boys who have previously been given this honor are: Don Corton, Calvin Seedeek, Dick Smith, and Ronnie Lingo.
Congratulations, boys, you're doing a fine job.

Judy Lee

Some Glenridge students do not seem to have any respect when someone is reading the Bible during devotionals.
It seems to be more important to do last night's home work or talk about the latest gossip. There are lots of other times for both of these activities. The reading of the Scriptures is intended to direct all of our minds toward the highest in spiritual and mental goals. The reading of this inspirational material can really help us all through the day if we only listen and let it sink in.
