   Glenridge entries in the recent Science Fair won many awards.
   A first place went to Dave Herold, George Mayo, glenn Mason, Robie Robinson, and Pete Wilson for building a rocket. They also received a second place in all of Orange County's entries, which included projects from high schools.
   John Bordley took a second place for a working model of a lift pump.
   Dave Herold and Peter Wilson received a second for making a carbon arc.
   Honorable mention went to Robert Whipple for a self made radio and speaker.
   Joe Smith took a first for his poster of a typical missile center.
   Alan Price received a second for a biology demonstration.
   Fred Bumgardner took honorable mention for his display on an outboard motor.
   Seventh graders who won awards were Nancy Dechert with a first for a notebook on the Heart. A Zoology exhibit on animals in "The Life of a Boy" gave John Bruton, Jim Bruton and Pidge Clark a second.

   Cherokee won the Orange County Track meet at Boone March 28 with a total of 99 points. glenridge team came in second with 65 points. The next closest was Howard's 28.
   Glenridge came away with five "firsts". Rusty Doolittle won a first on 20 low hurdles - 15.5 sec. Doolittle also won a first on high jump, 5'1".
   Wayne Collins came in first on shot-put with a 45'5" throw. And Richard Giannini also won a first in discus throw.
   Glenridge's Adrian E. Stockard Chapter of National Junior Honor Society held its annual tapping of new members in three assemblies March 24.
   Honor Society members participating in the ceremony were Frank Ferguson, president of the society. Devotionals by Richard Winslow, Scholarship: Ray Myers and Nancy Lundahl; Leadership: Sandra Flowers and Linda Schmidt; Service: Ronald Buckmaster and sandra Cash; Character: Noralee Reicherts and Sandra Wilson; Citizenship: Dewey Ramsby and David Eckhardt; Membership: Mary Jane Ezzard and Steve Van Ore; Prayer: Martha Grove and Charlotte McKim; Torchbearer: Bonnie Boone and JoAnn Ross.
   Steve Van Ore gave a horn call, and Mrs. Edgar Allen and Mrs. Mildred Livengood performed a violin and piano duet; and
Members of the Glee Club sang the Honor Society Song.
   Ninth grade students tapped were: Mona Barnhart, Barbara Benson, John Bordley, John Bowman, John Cash, Richard Childs, Maurine Doggett, Allan Fesus, George Fisher, Gregory Holland, Joanne Horvath, Glenn Mason, Max Morris, Chandler Muller, Judith Reding, Sharon Spelzhausen, Carol Skelton, Nancy Temple, Sue Tinklepaugh, Peter Wilson and Patricia Wind.
   Eighth grade students tapped were: David Andrews, Elizabeth Cragg, Judith Garren, Susan Graves, Valerie Herbine, Lance Howden, Ann Jenkins, Thomas Lawton, Dianne Loupee, Robert Mikesell, Robert Reynolds, James Rich, Robert Ross, Barbara Rogers, Sharon Sindad, Ctherine Skinner, Joe H. Smith, James Stokes, Margaret Wellinger.


   Easter vacation will begin for all students on Good Friday, April 4 and will continue through Monday, April 7.
   Students will report to school April 8 to begin examinations on the fifth marking period.

   In the 50 yard dash Mike Mulligan was second, Greg Holland fourth. In 800 yard dash Barry Seaman was second and Ray Myers fifth.


   The annual Spring Festival will be held April 11. Plans include a dinner, dance, and talent show in the cafetorium.
   Plant sale, Bake sale, and moview for the younger brothers and sistrs are included in the plans.

   Glenridge's Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Mrs. Richard Weidley will play a concert at Audubon Park School April 10.
