GLENRIDGE JR. HIGH SCHOOL
Sept. 17, 1957

Of course no one in our school would deny a sick student medical attention or sympathy. BUT a lot of people wander into the clinic who seem to have nothing wrong but a little classroomitus, or perhaps a slight spasm of conscience because they did not do their homework. Rather than goof-off on the vertical they prefer a horizontal position.

We could tolerate their imagined maladies better if it weren't that they clutter up the clinics and deny the really ill of a spot to rest their aching bones.

Obviously it is impossible to examine the motives of every clinic patient. You'll have to do that for us. Ask yourself, "is this trip to the clinic necessary." If a rising temperature, a quaking tummy, or pounding head answer affirmatively muster the strength to get a clinic pass from your teacher and check in thru the DEANS' OFFICES!

LOOKING INTO THE LIBRARY

Girls will enjoy THE DAY AND THE WAY WE MET by Mary Stoltz. This is a family story about Julie Connor, her father and brothers, and how they managed after an older sister, Morgan, was married.

LISTEN MY HEART by Ellen Turngren is about a girl who lives on a farm and wants to be a professional singer.

THUNDER ROAD, a story about stock car racing by William Campbell Gault will interest the boys.

THE STORY OF D-DAY by Bruce Bliven, Jr. is a fascinating story about the great invasion of World War II.

Our new librarian, Mrs. Mary Frances Rose, will be happy to help all new students to become better acquainted with our fine library.
