"We Get Around"
By Stu Smith '61

I sure am going to miss this place. I'll miss Mrs. Hill's black pencil through my copy. I'll miss the smoke of Mrs. Wilson's cigarillo lingering in the office when I'm dying for a smoke. I'll miss Mrs. Winslow's motherly advice bright and early every morning in home room. I'll miss Mr. Hotaling's play periods. But most of all I'll miss the girl's lowcut sundresses. I'd give my eye teeth to be as tall as Jack Billingham in the summer.
Well, now it won't be so hard to leave. With that last passle of insults, they'll probably run me out on a rail. Lots of luck Cats. Hope I get a chance to see ya'll sometime real soon.

In the April 27th Sun Herald we read "If you don't have a date for the Prom as yet, don't forget Mrs. Ramsdell's 'Univac'". This appeared in the column Mourner's Bench.
We are interested in exactly how this Univac worked and whether it was successful or not. The September issue of Seventeen is going to be devoted to fads, fashions and facts about teenagers around the country... your Univac sounds fascinating.
We would appreciate any information you could give us about this "machine" or whatever it is. Thank you very much.

P.S. Hope your Prom was a huge success!

In case anybody beside my mother is interested I used my own name. I'm sure this isn't a shock to a lot of you, but I thought it would be nice to see my own byline in print before I'm graduated
I know this isn't going to be much of a column since I'm not insulting anybody or hacking up the faculty, or dishing out a little bit of dirt that's going around school. I'm just going to take this opportunity to thank my readers (if I have any) for putting up with the trash that I bag out on my typewriter every week.

CLUBLICITY
Band Assembly
By Pamme Anderson

Here we are once again, bringing you the latest and the last in club news.
G.A.A. has been exceptionally active this year, and along this line of thought, the elected officers for next year are sure to make for a mighty "swingin" club. They are: President, Toby Tate; Vice President, Becky Mitchell; Secretary, Cheryl Lampe; Treasurer, Judy Thompson, Chaplain, Lynn Bissland; Historian, Ruthie Hangarther.
I'd like to put a little squib in my column today about the fine work the band has done this year. They're just about the hardest working "club" that has ever hit WPHS. Congrats!!
Well, that about wraps it up for this year, so as the Wi-Pa-Hi-Sc staff closes up shop with misty eyes, I'd like to wish all of you a great Graduation and a really "swingin" summer!!!
Bye all... See you with our first issue in September!

On Friday, May 19, the WPHS Band under the direction of Mr. Edgar W. Williams and duet conductor, David Farr, presented an outstanding musical program. The hilarity and high-jinks of the performance, coupled with its high professional caliber, made for good entertainment.
Perky McKim and Donna Shaw twirled in a duet... followed by the majorette troupe's interpretation of "Tankerine".
Included in the Band's repertoire were: "Coat of Arms", "Cabo Yubi", "Scottish Rhapsody", Colonel Bogey", and finally, selections from "The Sound of Music.
