Seniors
Set Future
|
In
full standing, the "Class of 61" is three hundred, sixty
strong. Our day of reckoning as "Seniors", is here and we
expect all to have respect for it. We are not below admonishment or
rebuff from our faculty, but underclassmen should beware of "Senior
Intentions!"
In a short time, future seniors will be confronted
with several votes from their Student Council. These ballots will
concern Senior Privileges. Present recognized Senior Privileges are:
walking through the front door, and leaving assemblies first. The
New privileges on the agenda include: making a sidewalk in
the front door a Senior walk, Huntington Avenue becoming a Senior
and faculty parking area only, and perhaps establishing a Senior lunch
line.
It is true that we, the present Senior Class, will
reap the benefits first, but everyone should remember that the first
fruits aren't always the best.
In establishing these reverences, the Class of '61
is preparing the way for you, the Class of '62 and '63. This glory
is not a selfish one. We want these resolutions for everyone and the
glory will eventually be shared by all. Your future "Saintedness'
as Seniors will be founded by the passing of these coming proposals. |

Underclassmen Beware!!!
|
All
underclassmen are urged to beware of seniors for they are going to
be hot-on-the-tail of any junior or sophomore who abuses the privilege
of the "Senior Door for Seniors only." Any underclassmen
reported going through the Senior Door are required by Mrs. Ramsdell
to write a two page theme entitled, "Why I Should Not Walk Through
the Senior Door Until I Am A Senior."
That was the sad but true story of Jay Gustafson,
a junior, who was caught and was made to pay his debt to society and
the Senior Class. Will this crime ever be forgotten by the members
of the twelfth grade class? Only time will tell, but first Jay must
prove himself. |

It
seems that another Winter Park student is also having trouble with
rules and regulations. In the past two weeks, Senior Suzy Cushing
has been stopped by the police three times!!!! Red Light !?!? Speeding!?!?
Illegal parking !?!? Come now Miss Cushing, don't you think this is
getting a little expensive??? |

An
earnest attempt was made last week to deodorize the Wildcat's Den
by an unsuspecting senior girl. After all attempts to enter the building
J.R. left with her Fuller Brush Aerosol Spray as full as it was when
she came. Too bad, J.R., maybe if you talk to Coach Orr, he can get
the football boys to do it. |

Frank
Ferguson reported having a marvelous time while in Italy and Europe,
but it seemed that he had to forego two days of the three he was
scheduled to attend the Olympics in Rome, due to illness. Sorry,
Frank, we hope that it didn't inconvenience you too much or take
up too much of your time. What appeared to be wrong???

The
stork is soon to arrive in the homes of two former W.P.H.S. teachers.
Mrs. Kleinknight, who taught algebra and plane geometry for many years
here, and Mrs. Delmas, typing instructor last year, are both gracious
ladies in waiting this fall. |

A
party of well wishers for departing Seniors and alumni was in full
force two week ends ago on the back row of the Winter Park Drive-In.
The one flaw to this group of merry-makers appeared when the fun was
over; there seemed to be confusion as to just who the party was for.
But who said you had to have someone who was going away at a going
away party? |
