CLASSES   CHANGE   SPORTS

No sooner have the boys gotten underway in basketball and volleyball than they change places. This week the fellows in basketball will go to volleyball and vice versa.

The boys were just beginning to get the hang of the games. The basketball enthusiasts were finally beginning to function and get the range of the basket. And the volleyball teams were learning how to handle the ball in the wind.

In about five weeks, we will change again and move into football, soccer, or track. By the end of the year we will all have more comprehension and experience in all the major sports.

CHIP SCHRAM WAS SEEN SPORTING A wide brimmed cowboy hat at the Howard game. He also wore a false face. Did you go trick or treating too, Chip?

Everybody thought the cheerleaders idea of having the team enter through a Glenridge hoop might clever. Linda Schmidt made the hoop.

Which blond almost fell off the stand when Number One broke through the hoop? Too bad she has so much competition!

The big heart break of the game was missing the first down by six inches in the third quarter.

On October 22, Mrs. Roess' and Miss Folsom's classes ha their final playoffs in softball. THE TOP COCKS trounced the GO GETTERS 21-8; TEAGUE TERRORS beat the BBB's 7-5

It's always nice to report compliments received about our student behavior and school spirit. When the compliment comes from one of our rivals -- it really makes us feel good. It was a Lee student who said -- we might have lost the game to Howard, but we always win in school spirit. We might add Lee has a fine reputation for spirit and sportsmanship, too.

Plaid Day was a huge success. The plaids were varied, to be sure, but just about everyone was wearing one. We ought to do that more often.

Sometimes the little folks who come to our games can be a nuisance, but when we hear fourth and fifth graders talking about "Our Team -- the Lions", our hearts can't help but glow. It's a good school when students look forward to getting here for years.
